There are 183 days scheduled for students. If there are no canceled school days, the last day will be June 20, 2002, resulting in 183 days for students. If there are canceled school days, the number of school days is reduced and the calendar is adjusted accordingly:
1 canceled day = 182 student days

2 canceled days = 181 student days

3 canceled days = 180 student days
If there are more than 3 canceled days, bringing the student days below 180 days, then for each day under 180 days not waived by the Department of Education, a student day will be added to the school year, but not later than June 30, 2002. Voted by the School Committee on May 29, 2001.
